South Delta and RBL of Vancouver were the clear favorites to win the 2000 Provincial title but were both upset in the early rounds of the tournament. That left South Burnaby with as good a chance as anyone to capture the Championship. Missed foul shots, 6 for 22, in the semi final against Filcansa proved to be Eagles downfall as they went down in a heart breaking 3 point loss. Aly Dhalla and Milos Jeftic led SBMC in scoring with 48 and 50 points while Anthony Castro, one of the Club's best ever point guards , chipped in another 21 points to go with his excellent passing and ball handling ability.
